As promised, I've been constantly adding new sustainable and ethical brands to my Where to Shop page. I usually find them from Instagram, bloggers, or through sustainable shops that I'm searching through. It's kind of a random act of God and endless hours of searching that I'm able to find what I'm specifically looking for. Right now I've been looking for Summer wear. Clothing is a bit easier but shoes are tricky for me because sustainable shoes are not very cute. I was very close to purchasing a pair of shoes that aren't made sustainably, or ethically. Below you'll find the shoes that I've been craving for poolside days.
These Jeffrey Campbell's are from Free People. They're sold out in my size and NOT sustainable, but super cute! So, I kept the search up for a similar pair of sandals until I found this amazing company, Brother Vellies. They have the cutest sandals! They offer modern styles and they're totally sustainable. Founded by, Aurora James, her goal is to provide jobs to local artisans in Africa. Their shoes are handmade in Kenya and finished in Brooklyn, New York. They use vegetable dyes instead of harmful chemicals, local animal product, and ethical labor during the entire production process. You can learn more about their sustainable practices on their sustainability information page. Yes their shoes are a little bit more expensive, however they're made to last and definitely worth the splurge.
They also have amazing gladiator sandals that I'm saving up for. They're so cute and so different from anything that you'll find. I really love their shoes and I'm very excited to rock these on those warm summer days ahead.
