The setting for this shoot was absolutely incredible. I was able to get out of town for just a night and visit some dear friends at their beautiful beach house. I always feel so calm and relaxed when I get out of town, even if it's just for a night. Since I went to the beach, I thought it would be appropriate to pack a ton of dresses (not exaggerating). By no means am I a light packer. I have to have everything with me so I know I'll something when I need it. Thankfully it rained (sarcasm) so I only got to wear this dress for a short while, but it was still warm so the dress was perfect for when the rain stopped. This dress I'm wearing is actually a vintage skirt that I got a while ago and never had the opportunity to wear it until now. It's cute as a skirt, but I love it more as a dress. Buying vintage is a great way to be sustainable, by bringing a new life to old, unwanted clothes. I also believe that vintage items are such gems and that when you find the perfect piece, you cherish it forever.
I ultimately decided that I wasn't going to keep the dress after the weekend because I knew I didn't have an occasion to wear it, and I really need to start getting rid of unworn clothes in my closet. So I gave it to my girlfriend. She and her boyfriend run this really amazing vintage clothing company, Yeesh Vintage. She may or may not sell this piece on there, but you should check them out on Depop or Etsy. They've got some super sick vintage pieces for men and women. They're the best! So keep your eyes peeled for this dress/skirt, possibly coming soon to a Yeesh Vintage shop near you ;)
I also paired it with my mom's really cute vintage belt. I can't stop wearing it.
